Scholar, organizer, facilitator.

I started my PhD at Cornell’s Lab of Ornithology and Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology thinking about niches and birds, and I’ve since expanded to think across species and disciplines. Rather than placing the historical and genomic methods I use in opposition, I ask how these lines of research intersect to yield better methods and communication around invasive species like the starlings I study.

My work as an organizer and a facilitator supports this research: the questions I ask now are inspired by the communities who push me to imagine a science that values diversity.
